Finding the right skin care for your individual needs can be tricky.  Most skin care products are marketed for one specific skin type or condition – dry, oily, acne, eczema, aging, sensitive – but in reality our needs are often a bit more complex, and may even seem contradictory (oily and dry, acne and eczema?).

Which is why manuka honey is such a skin care star - it works wonders for all skin types and most skin problems.

Manuka Honey possesses the essential actions necessary to treat eczema topically – it reduces inflammation and redness; draws moisture to the outer layers of skin for long lasting hydration and protection against dryness; as an emollient it softens and smooths dry cracked skin; it stimulates natural skin repair and healing to restore skin integrity; and it works as a topical antibacterial to prevent infection.

Dry skin

Manuka Honey draws moisture to the outer layers of skin to replenish dehydrated skin cells for long lasting moisture retention.  The nourishing qualities of manuka honey give skin a healthy radiance, transforming dull dry skin.

Rough skin, poor skin texture

In addition to the hydrating action of manuka honey which plumps the outer skin layers, it is also an emollient to soften and smooth skin texture.

Acne, pimples, breakouts

Manuka honey is the perfect acne or pimple treatment – it is a powerful antibacterial but doesn’t aggravate or dry the skin like many other acne treatments. And it’s a multi tasker - while fighting the angry bacterial infection and inflammation it also helps heal and repair the skin, preventing scarring and skin damage. Manuka honey can be used as a spot treatment for active breakouts, and as a mask 1-2 times a week to prevent breakouts.

Fine lines and wrinkles

Dehydration and inflammation can prematurely age your skin, causing visible lines and a lack of elasticity. Manuka honey reduces inflammation and protects against dryness, drawing moisture to the outer skin layers and plumping the skin to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, giving a more youthful dewy complexion.

Irritated skin

Manuka Honey is a natural anti-inflammatory, calming inflamed, irritated skin. As an emollient it soothes and protects against dryness which can impair the skin’s natural protective barrier and lead to easy skin irritation.

Wounds, grazes, burns, sunburn

Once again manuka honey has the whole bag of tricks to deal with damaged or burnt skin. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity to fight infection and control inflammation. It stimulates natural skin repair, speeding the healing process and helping to prevent scarring. It keeps the area moist which is beneficial for healing and prevents dryness and cracking. Plus manuka honey is gentle on the skin so doesn’t aggravate the delicate new tissue or surrounding area.
