Celebrate Easter the healthy (but still decadent) way

When I was 10 years old I asked my mother for a fruit basket instead of an Easter egg. True story. In hindsight this probably signalled the beginning of my interest in natural health, although I confess I also stole some of my brother’s Easter egg that year (he was a ‘saver’ which I took as an invitation).

These days I still find myself seeking more wholesome treats to celebrate Easter; treats that are both healthier AND more tempting than the corridors of over-sweet chocolate and stodgy buns in the supermarket.

I have hand-picked some of my favourite homemade Easter treats that are the perfect combo of wholesome and delicious. And they’re pretty quick and simple to make, so no excuses!

Petite Kitchen’s Little Spiced Fruit Buns - gorgeous made with the rich caramel sweetness of New Zealand Rewarewa Honey. Warm from the oven with pure butter and a dab more honey, now that’s what I call an Easter bun.

I’m going to attempt these with New Zealand Wild Flower Honey – a great all-rounder honey that blends well with other flavours.
